The Village Center and Boardwalk District

The Village Center District will become the destination point for Snug Harbor and a carefully integrated mixed use community for this area is planned.  This area will feature outdoor plazas, courtyards, vest pocket parks and a village green. The vision for the Village Center is planned to include the following:

- Wooden Boat Restoration Facility and Museum

- Restaurants

- Old-fashioned ice cream parlor and candy shop

- Coffee shop and bakery

- Small post office

- Public docks

- Village green/park

- Private and/or semi-private clubs

The enchantment of a bygone era will be recaptured in the Boardwalk District located in the Village Center on the harbor.  The boardwalk will be 35 feet wide in areas and over 1500 feet long.  Dining, recreation and shops will line the boardwalk and twinkling lights will trim the buildings.  The ambiance will continue throughout with detailed architecture featuring sherbet-color facades, flagged turrets and striped awnings all reminiscent of the turn of the twentieth century.  A stroll at Snug Harbor’s Boardwalk will be a journey back in time inspired by the middle Atlantic seaside attractions of the early 1900’s and Disney’s boardwalk resort.

The success of the Boardwalk and Village Center will be insured by the population and visitors of the entire Buckeye Lake Region and can be accessed by both automobiles and boats.  The Boardwalk and Village Center will be built in phases along with the Harbor and Village Center Condominiums.

Snug Harbor will include a variety of public spaces to include the following:

The Wharf District

The Wharf District at Snug Harbor has been designed to resemble the 250-year old picturesque fishing village Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, where the hue of one’s house reflects the vitality of one’s spirit and will be a vacation cottage and condominium community.

Wharf Cottages

The Boathouse Row and Wharf Cottages are being built in the Wharf District to emulate large industrial warehouses, marinas and shops that were converted to residential use.  The Boathouse Row and Wharf Cottage condominiums offer resort-style amenities with quality exterior and interior finishes and your own private slip where all exterior maintenance is provided by the Condo Association.

The North Harbor District

The North Harbor District will be a residential community offering primary luxury and larger vacation homes.  The architectural style will be eclectic and all of the homes will be on the waterfront with excellent views.

The Roberts Reserve District

The Roberts Reserve District pays homage to the long-time land owners from whom the land for Snug Harbor was purchased.  Roberts Reserve will be a residential community offering large luxury homes.  The architectural style will be eclectic and all the homes will be on the waterfront with excellent views of Buckeye Lake.

At the promontory point is the Villa Di Luce Club and Spa, a Mediterranean-style private club featuring “members only” luxury spa, fitness and dining facilities.

The South Shore District

The South Shore District will be a residential community offering primary luxury and vacation homes.  The architectural style will be eclectic and all the homes will be on the waterfront with excellent views of Buckeye Lake.

The Island District

The Island District will be a vacation home cottage community.  The island architecture style most closely emulates the vernacular of the Muskoka style cottages and boathouses.  Exteriors will range from Shaker simplicity to Victorian Gingerbread.
